Therapy

I work with adults and older adolescents with a range of psychological questions, experiences, and difficulties. These often relate to:

  • Anxiety and mood

  • Interpersonal relationships (romantic, family, friendship, work etc.)

  • Self-esteem, self-worth or self-concept

  • Grief, loss, or other adjustments/transitions

  • Experiences of trauma (complex or single-incident)

  • Sexual/romantic orientation or gender identity

  • Sexuality or sexual function

  • Emotional and behavioural issues

You may also seek therapy to improve your general psychological well-being; gain a better understanding of your internal world; and/or find meaning in your experiences. Regardless of your reason for seeking therapy, my primary interest is understanding you as a unique individual.

Attendance

Our work together will begin with an initial assessment phase (usually 1-3 sessions), after which time we will decide on the best way forward.

To enhance the effectiveness of therapy, I offer sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis (weekly is preferred); I do not currently take on patients who wish to attend less frequently than fortnightly. For those wishing to engage in more in-depth psychoanalytic work, I also offer twice-weekly sessions.

Referrals & Fees

My current fee for a standard 50-minute session is $230. For those wishing to commit to longer-term therapy, I also offer alternative fee arrangements.

You do not need a referral or diagnosis to access psychotherapy and can contact me directly to organise an appointment. If you have private health insurance, your provider may offer financial support for accessing psychology.

I also welcome referrals from GPs as part of a mental health treatment plan. In such instances, you will be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate (currently $137.05 per session) for a specified number of sessions (usually 10-20) per calendar year.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information about fees and referrals.

I acknowledge the Turrbal and Jagera people, the Traditional Owners of the lands on which I practice, pay respect to their Elders, and recognise their continued custodianship and connection to the land, waters, and community.
